An interesting essay in Atlantic Magazine that has come out of the Baltimore situation.

Pay particular attention to the last highlighted paragraph. If you are having an unpleasant conversation with a police officer and he tells you that you do not have a right to leave, in today's climate you may become an honorary black person (if you are not already a real one).

Thanks for a good article.

It doesn't address the fact that some States and localities don't get the U.S. Constitution and seek to ban video recording using wiretapping precedents. The cases get overthrown when carried up to higher courts but you need to decide if you want to be arrested and fight that costly battle. I believe Illinois continues to be the most oppressive in this behavior as they are with our other rights such as to bear arms.

Fortunately the Supreme Court mostly gets the Constitution:

Note that California, Connecticut, Florida, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Montana (requires notification only), Nevada, New Hampshire, Pennsylvania and Washington also enjoy oppressing their citizens.
