I made this bracket for my new Celestron AVX Drive.
And couple it to my Tamron 150-600mm Lens or any Lens I choose.
The moon shot is the first with this setup.
Nikon 800E
F/5.6
@ 600mm
ISO 50
Processed in Lightroom & Topaz Detail3.

Now I see the problem. Its plain as day..
You're shooting with a NIKON...
Just pulling your leg.
I'd like to see your unprocessed shot. This looks a bit dark to me but that might just be me.

Nice set-up! You should be able to get at least 2-3 minute exposures, and maybe a little longer, especially at shorter focal lengths. You're on your way!

Thank you Jim for looking in and it is a daylight shot and the Moon comes out milky. But here's the original.

Hello DL good to hear from you. I did a couple of 5 minute shots with minimal star trails on the 8" scope. More shaking due to the gusty winds.
Each night is different due to success in setup or not.

For those who would just prefer to purchase an adapter, here is one by Orion approx $21. I have seen others on eBay. I have an adapter by Celestron and I failed to find its part number in my quick search.

http://www.amazon.com/Orion-7388-4-Inch-Adapter-Telescope/dp/B0000XMYFQ

I find that this is a very good way to get images. I use it a lot with my 300mm F2.8 lens which pulls in a lot of light. This works well with Teleconverters too. Very good for bigger objects that don't need higher magnification such as some star clusters.

Thank you Jim for doing the research on that. Good find.

Does anyone know how to launch the "Creative Cloud app"???
To update to the latest version of Lightroom for use with your Creative Cloud membership, please quit Lightroom, launch the Creative Cloud app, and click the “Install” button next to Lightroom CC (2015).

I bought a 5 foot length of 1/2 X 1.5 in aluminum bar. I have made a mount for my 5" SCT and I am in the middle of building an 8 inch mount for my camera. Total cost for the bar was $16 and I still have 3 feet of bar to play with.
It makes a great foot with the clamp bolts hitting pretty close to the middle of the bar.
For those on a budget this seems to work really well.

Look under your program button on the lower left. It should be listed if you installed CC.
You will need to open the install list to do the update.
I just did the update.
;)

Hi Craig,
Your Moon photo has very good detail but I think it would look much better (IMO) with brightness and contrast enhancement. I really like your new camera setup... looks great... I am envious over it... :)
