Good shots but to me the lightning looks to phoney!

Wow, incredible pics. Didn't realize lightning is associated with the eruption cloud.

Lightning is very active in most eruptions. Caused by the dust and debris rising hitting the colder air masses above and around, creating a static charge. Others might have better ways of describing the event.
