A young wolf pup was collared for tracking purposes in North East Oregon about 1- 1/2 years ago. It has been followed as it wandered down thru Oregon and into Northern California and back into Oregon where it is currently somewhere in the central part of the state. Its story reminded me of an animal I photographed a few years ago near Fort Klamath Oregon. I have never been sure if it was a Wolf or a Coyote. Need help on identifying this critter.
Could it be the English Wolf on vacation to Crater Lake from Florida?
What is it?

I agree, looks like a coyote. The nose (muzzle?) is too long and pointy for a wolf.

The ones in the back look like ducks.
It is a coyote. Size and muzzle indicate this.
Just a coyote, not a wolf.
He looks like he is having fun, would have more if he could catch one of the ducks. LOL Good catch. Thanks
We saw, and got a huge track in the snow, a huge coyote in town in Southern Indiana. I read where a coyote and wolf will interbreed occasionaly, but the coyote and domestic dog are even more likely to interbreed. These coydogs keep their preditory nature and are not as people shy as a pure coyote.

OMG! You know when people write: "LOL" you wonder if they really do. Well, after I saw this post, I actually did. I'm sure my co-workers are wondering what's up with him. :-D Cheers.

Looks more like this young lady who stopped by our back yard to cool off in the shade on a hot summer's day here in Phoenix.
She kept an eye on me while shooting but didn't seem bothered. This from my patio.
