trying to get my B&G's pictures out after a stella BD party for my 60th this weekend. whew, am I glad it is over, TIRED!!!

I like this look, Copied this from my wedding photos from 32 years ago. the photographer, film, did an outstanding job with the pictures and posing. the lost art. Hope you like it. I softened it a little. I liked it REALLY soft but thought I would get beat up over the softening.

Nicely done. There is tremendous artistry in photography, and I think one of the reasons that film still reflects so positively is that is was not easy. If you wanted to do something in photography, you really had to work at it. Becoming proficient in dark rooms, using developers, enlargers, etc. each had their own set of skills, and though I did a lot of this in the 60s, I still marvel at the work of those who REALLY applied themselves to their craft. Compared to them, I was/am an amateur.

Now, it's the same with digital - except that so many now believe that having a camera with a larger lens automatically makes them equally proficient.

Once again, nice work.

OK, I'll say it. I think that digital really has made things easier, and I also think that it has made me more lazy. Are you saying that these are pictures of YOUR wedding? I've often thought of scanning in my wedding photos so I would have them for whatever purpose. The photographer that shot my wedding died a few years after, so I can't ask for permission to scan, and for some reason, I just really feel funny about scanning them.

My package reflects that I know people will scan any image they buy from me, so I give them a digital copy at a size that I feel comfortable with, and have a small logo/watermark so at least if they post it, hopefully I get some credit. That being said, I guess being an old film photographer, I just can't bring myself to actually do it.

Not trying to beat you up at all,(for all I know, you have permission) but I'm wondering where others stand on the subject. Knowing that we have technology that we never dreamed of years ago. (remember the old copy stands to take photos of photos?)

Yes, digital has made things easier. I certainly don't think I have become lazy. If anything because I have more power I have become more critical. I had a dark room. I understand. I did scan my wedding album in and have them up on my tablet. I use them for posing examples. Most of my clients see them when I am working and say.....Holy S.......is that you? Wow, you wife is beautiful. For you Brooklynites, I had it in LaMer on Flatbush Ave

My contract sez they have rights to the pictures but I can use them on my website and for some discussion work (ie UHH) anything else I will ask.

They are my clients..............

Yes, this was a very popular pose back in the day. I know I used it on several occasions and still like it. But then full frontal and looking directly at the camera fell out of favor. Just call it retro and it will sell.

With the greatest respect for your lovely wife, I can see how the full frontal would be a favorite of yours. Cmon, admit it. You really wanted to show her off to your UHH buds. Who wouldn't want to show off that beautiful blond hair and those gorgeous eyes. And you were no slouch in the looks department either. Of course, we all looked really good 30 years ago. Right??

That makes a LOT more sense. I couldn't help thinking that, going by your avatar, you look a whole lot different than you did 30 years ago, but didn't really age much.

Some of us really did marry hotties 8-)

Yes I pulled out the wedding pictures taken some 30 years ago.

We didn't have a pro snapper but never less my beautiful wife could make any snap look golden.

The second one was taken during our 5 year anniversary.

Yes, I'm a blessed man :D

Sorry if I did a slight hijacking, but it was the appropriate place to share .......

Actually my avatar was 4 years ago and I am still blonde, blue eyed and driven. Still have the same hair.

or a horseshoe hair cut. Although I don't agree, people come up to me I have not seen in a while and say 'damn, you have not changed a bit." I usually refer them to my eye doctor for immediate help!!!

Show offs! My forehead turned into a fivehead by the time I was 20, I've probably got an eighthead by now, but the doctors and their silly magic formulas made short work of that. It's coming back, but even more thin than before. First thing on this body to ever be considered "thin" so I'll take it. I guess the good part is I was probably morbidly obese before everything started, now I'm just obese. You need to have goals!
