Thanks for this thoughtful post. Nice to see that there are some who care about others.

I've only used CanonUSA.com and search on "refurbished."
I've seen others recommended - like
B & H - but I have no experience with them.

Anything B&H marks as refurbished has been refurbished by the manufacturer to original company's specifications. Or so their site claims. And they are fairly reliable.

Try http://shop.usa.canon.com/shop/en/catalog/refurbished-products-information?gclid=CMn4nvKQhcUCFe_m7AodoUcAZQ&cm_mmc=GA-_-CanonOnlineStore-_-141209Nonbrand%20Paid%20Search-_-Sitelink
I hope this link works. I always called them to order instead of ordering it online. Have fun

I just received my beautiful refurbed Canon 70D 2 1/2 weeks ago; however, I have to send it back already because there are dust spots on the sensor :( So glad I haven't sold my T3i yet.

From 7 years ago to this date, I've never successfully placed an order with Canon online. Good advice: call to place your order.

Experiences vary I guess. I have never had a problem ordering on line but today, when I tried to call, I spent the entire morning trying to get through. Hold and hold and hold and one time when I called back the recording said they were closed. I finally switched to e-mail and was told they checked the lines and they were fine but Monday is their busiest day. Obviously! I finally decided they must have only one person working!!
At any rate, I guess anything can happen!
Thanks for the hint! Hope we both have better luck!

This is also true regarding Adorama. They are currently selling (at ebay) Nikon P600 cameras--for $199.95. Mine arrived a few days ago, and everything indicates that it is indeed a true Nikon refurb. I split most of my buying between these two places. I made my first B&H purchase in 1976 (!) when I bought 8 mm film equipment for a year of film study at USC.
