What a total bullshit story THIS is! It wasn't society's fault that this punk decided to become a thug and killer! It wasn't his coach's fault! It wasn't the football fan's fault! And, from all accounts, it wasn't his parent's fault either. No one forced him to pull the trigger. It was HIS decision and HIS alone! Stories like this chap my ass! These so-called reporters continue to plant the flag of guilt in our backs every time someone strays from the path of good and righteous deeds and become evil...... like it was OUR fault. As if WE didn't do enough to help the poor kid. Should we bow our head in shame! BULLSHIT! HELL NO! I didn't have a damn thing to do with this punks actions and I resent this ass-hole writer even hinting that I did!

Rant Mode off..... for now.

I'm pretty sure professional athletes (in the major sports at least) are allowed to kill one or two ordinary people as part of their contracts.

Man, take a breath! We know the story, don't add to the media hype with superfluous BS and a need to do a rehash of current events. Can't be that bored.

Yeah because we just don't do rehashes of current events here in the Attic. :D

I'm confused, where in the article did it suggested that the flag of guilt be planted on our (society's) back? I guess I must have missed that.

Everybody's take is a little different. What do you consider the "closing".

The beef is that some media sources are looking for someone to blame for what he did other than he himself.

"It's an important reminder for every athlete. But it's even more important for the coaches, agents, hangers-on and, yes, even fans who feed these athletes' egos and, thus, enable their boorish behavior. They may not have pulled the trigger, but they all had a hand in making Hernandez believe he could".

The term "society's Back" includes all of the above.

I guess I missed that, but my opinion of the media would typically not be favorable, sensationalistic bastards that they are.

After rereading the last few paragraphs, I see what should have been obvious. I blame my brain fog on the Margarita I had after getting home from work.
