Hello All,
I recently saw a digital photograph which was really a form of abstract art. Id like to know how its done and if anyone knows if it requires a special program.
A photograph was taken from the 12th floor of an apartment house balcony looking down on a garden and a swimming pool. The photograph was then digitally manipulated to produce a checkerboard of colored squares which was the abstract art. If one blured ones vision (perhaps looking through a hand-held magnifier at a distance, a blurry picture of the original photograph can be seen... otherwise, the art is a pleasant abstract of colored squares.
Ive tried just enlarging a photograph until only large pixels are seen. This gives the idea of what Im afte,r but in order to duplicate the effect I saw in the abstract picture, I would end up with a photograph many feet wide.
Ideas are most welcome, and I thank you.

In PS under the Filter tab select Pixalate and there are several different options that may give you the effect you're looking for.
