There are many interesting objects at the historic area at Quarry Park. The objects are related to when granite was being quarried. The park itself has 20 old granite quarries.
The landmark at Quarry Park is a replica of Liberty Derrick that was used at some of the old quarries in the park.
This is the top of the derrick taken with a tamron 18-270 lens fully extended out.
Old Cable Spool with Cable
Have no idea what this is or how it was used. I does have a tank on back.

Nice Marry! Do you have more. At 8 years old I worked in a sand stone quarry with my Grandfather here in Ohio. I look back now and wonder how I got this old. :-D

And some more.
An old hook, 5 to 6 feet long at least.
Rail Cart
A few objects in a row.
I'd say the big yellow boat anchor was a huge diesel generator in its first life.
big yellow thing is an air compressor to run the drill. it's an air operated hammer drill.

Could be. There were pipes attached to the tank.

Thanks Mary, That brought back good memories. I use to run cable for the derricks. I'd take a small cable across the quarry and hook it to a big one and they would pull it over and hook it to the other derrick so they could lift the sand stone out. Fun times with my Grandfather, even if it was work.

I'm so glad that these photos helped to bring back good memories of fun times with your grandfather.
