A Special Rose, Unwanted, Left To Die........
I still remember the day that the daughter of our neighbor next door pulled into their driveway and unloaded a miniature rose plant growing in a small container. She told me that her new boyfriend's parents worked at a plant nursery and had given her the plant, that she had just accepted it in order to make favorable points with her new boyfriend.
About a month later, while visiting with her, I asked her about the rose plant, and she told me that it had died. It was in the garage waiting to be thrown in the trash. I asked to see it, and thinking it might still be alive, asked her if I could have it. She gladly gave it to me.
I planted it in a five gallon paint bucket, placed it on our back patio deck, and over time nursed it back to good health. It is now a beautiful rose plant, and will always be a special plant for me.
Picture was taken with my Sony NEX-6 camera using a vintage Minolta MD Macro 50mm F3.5 lens at the following settings: f7.1, 1/60, ISO 400, manual focus, Daylight white balance, Manual Mode, and I used a tripod. Tejaswrangler :)
Memories are made of this! Great pic and story!

It does take longer for a young mind to mature as fast as the body does, her actions were not ill intended, just young. Someday when you show her the plant again, she'll have a different reaction.
And probably already has a different boyfriend.
That's a very good picture.
Hopefully the new boyfriend discarded her as fast as she did their rose.

grusum, that relationship did not last very long. Thanks for viewing the picture and posting a response! Tejaswrangler :)
Your provided a great lesson to the little girl with the rose.
Never give up, wonderful things can happen after intervening with care.
