Here is a picture I captured of a BGH on the Eastern branch of the Elizabeth River in Virginia Beach, VA. This is one of my favorite birds and image. Comments please

Nice catch!
I downloaded it and adjusted it a little bit. I won't upload unless it's OK with you. Basically, I straightened it and took some of the green away from the water.
QUESTION...My son lives in VB. Are there any areas nearby where eagles can be seen?

Insane the size fish, eels and whatnot that herons attempt to swallow! Did it, in fact, manage to eat that fish? :)
I agree about the shot needing a slight bit of straightening. Otherwise, super shot!

Yes indeed in fact a friend caught a picture with the fish in its neck. Wish I had!

Yes, there is. At the corner of Witchduck and Princess Anne, behind the old Kemps Landing Magnet School is an aerie with a nesting pair. Kind of weird--almost right in a neighborhood and just off one of the busiest roads in VA Beach.

Talk about the eyes being bigger than the stomach.... It's always intriguing to me how birds can eat big fish like this. At least he will be done fishing now, as I imagine his stomach will be overly full.
