I'm thinking about buying a Lumix DMC ZS50 camera. Mainly because of the view finder (very important), price and size. Any better suggestions. Thanks for your help.

I have ZS40 and it is spectacular piece of equipment. The viewfinder was also very important to me. There are also tons of spectacular features. You will be very happy with your choice.

The ZS40 is very similar and may still be around at a lower price. The Panasonic LF1 has a 28-200 f/2-5.9 Leica lens, a larger 1/1.7 inch sensor, and an EVF (electronic VF). It's also discontinued but they are still around. None of the other travel zooms that I know of have a VF.

The Nikon P7800 has a 28-200 f/2-4 lens, a 1/1.7 inch sensor, an EVF, and a hot shoe. I love mine.

The Canon G16 has a 28-140 f/1.8-2.8 lens, a 1/1.7 inch sensor, and optical VF, and a hot shoe.

There are others like the Sony RX100 and Panasonic LX100 with larger sensors, but they have shorter zooms and are a lot more expensive.

If your looking for a good travel point & shoot with a large zoom, you can't do much better than that one. It has a 720mm equivalent zoom lens and a view finder witch is becoming rare in point & shoot cameras.
