Camera stored for about two weeks, got it out for Easter and in viewfinder mode she fires twice and in live view she fires only sometimes as mostly I get a BUSY warning. Anyone know what's going on? I can't figure this one out. New to digital here !
What mode do you have it on? Is the battery fully charged? Is the memory chip empty?

Try turning off and removing battery, then putting fully charged battery back in.
Check that Mirror Lock- Up is not turned on.
Your description of the problem is a bit vague.
What do you mean by "she fires twice", and "she fires only sometimes".
In auto focus it will not click the shutter if it hasn't achieved focus.
Need more clearer info for clearer answers.
I understand you are new so not quite sure how to describe it yet, so just describe as best you can.

Memory chip not empty. On manual mode. Icon tells me battery is fully charged.
You may want to try a factor reset as follow:
Take out the Battery
Take out the card
Take off the lens
Turn camera on for a few minutes
Turn camera off
Put battery back in
Turn camera on
Clear setting in both places
Take picture without lens
Turn camera off
Put lens on and take picture.
This works on my T2 when I have some problems
GOOD LUCK
If not call canon support.

I'm manual mode using viewfinder, pressing the shutter button results in two firings, a two picture burst, while pressing the button in live view results in no shots firing, only a BUSY display and occasional firings. Seems as though camera has become irradict after it wasn't in use for 10 days. Battery was left in, actually two batteries because the camera body is mounted to a battery grip . All was functioning well until Easter Sunday.

Try gong to another mode to check the function of the camera. Try the P mode. Look at shutter speed, ISO and mirror lock-up. Leaving the camera turned on should not have caused the battery to drain as the camera should have shut itself off. Is it a third party battery grip? If so take it off and check just the camera. I'd also do as has been suggested and put all the batteries through a charge cycle.
Thank you to all who have responded. Will do all suggested checks etc. tonight and will post results tomorrow. Thank you again! Much appreciated.
What class card are you using? You should use a "class 10" or better to get the best and most efficient card loading.
By chance could you have the camera set for video mode?

Try it without the grip. Sometimes they are the problem.

Is the camera firing off two shots, yet you only push the button once? Check your menu settings and make sure you didn't make a change in your bracketing.
