The Burning Brush

Hi everyone:
Every year my neighbor and I get together and burn off the brush on our land. The result of this is less ticks, and other nasty bugs, and lovely green foliage in the spring.
I thought you may enjoy a couple of pictures of the burn, these are not photos made for review or critique they are just pictures taken by my neighbors wife during the burn.
The pictures are taken from my neighbors place at my place across the pond
My neighbor is also the rural fire chief and the fire department was there as a training exercise.
I hope you enjoy the adventure.

before the burn
before the burn...

It was going good
It was going good...

The next day
The next day...

To someone who has lived through several Southern California wildfires, all I can say is, HOLY CRAP!!! Those are truly frightening pictures.

Wonderful photos in my opinion. Sometimes even fire photographers can't get photos like that.

Hot Dogs? Too big of fire for smores though! When some depts have controlled burns in my area and I don't get invited, the next time I see either the personnel or the Chief of that dept I usually tell them that they forgot to invite me to their party. Usually they get a good laugh out of that.

This is what they need to do with our National forests.
