Sony to Nikon

Hi Hogs,
Today I found a very good deal on a Sigma 18-250 lens. The problem is that it doesn't have a Nikon mount. We tried it on a Canon and a Pentax and it didn't mount to either of those bodies. I suppose it has a sony mount but there was no sony body to try it on. My question is can the mount be changed so that I can use the lens on my Nikon D7000 body? how expensive would it be to have the mount changed if it can be done. Thanks for insight or suggestions.

What kind of deal are you getting? They are not that expensive a lens that modifying one is going to save you any money. I see the macro version on Amazon for $350 new.

It's seriously not worth the trouble.
You'd be wasting your time and money.
Fuggedaboudit!

Look for another lens that has a Nikon mount.

Check B+H photo for sony to nikon adapter. Several different kinds at different prices. Not sure cost of lens and adapter would be any kind of cost savings.

Forget about it. There are other lenses available.

$150.00 but I agree with everyone else that it's not worth the bother.

Agreed. I'm going to wait until I can get the Tamron 16-300 since that's what I really want. I'll just have to save up for it after I pay the income taxes that i owe.

Thought Sigma has the change the mount program. Guess it must be expensive? Just wondering since I was looking at Sigma lenses.
