The Sigma is about $1000 more than the Tamron and appears to be the same lense. I have a Canon T5i and have all Canon lens currently. Lokking for information about these two lenses and how they compare in quality to Canon.

Good luck. Not too many people own all three. Maybe MT Shooter can help as he is a retailer who handles lots of stuff.
The new Sigma Contempoary is now shipping - $1089 - comes with a CASE - the adjustment capabilities of the USB dock make it a better option with a T5i.....
I'll be interested in this thread...I have the Tamron 150-600 and my wife shoots a sigma 150-500...
Tamron 150-600mm and Sigma 150-600mm "C" as in "contemporary" are pretty similar in size, weight, quality, performance and price. The Tamron has been available for about a year. The Sigma was announced a while ago, but is only now just starting to come available in stores.
Sigma 150-600mm "S" as in "sports" is a whole different lens... more robust, bigger, heavier, better sealed, and almost $1000 more.
Canon doesn't have anything really comparable.
The closest Canon comes are:
- EF 100-400L IS USM Mark II or the original version of this lens, which are both considerably more compact than any of the 150-600mm lenses. Both these Canon zooms are far more "handholdable" than the 150-600mm lenses. The 100-400 Mark II sells for about $2200 and is getting rave reviews. The original version sold new for about $1700 and is a push/pull zoom design that people tend to either love or hate, depending upon how they use it.
- EF 200-400/4L 1.4X IS USM is a spectacular lens that sells for almost $10,000 more than the most expensive of the above, is considerably larger and heavier, but is completely uncompromising in materials, design and performance, incorporating a built-in matched 1.4X teleconverter that with the flip of a lever turns it into a 280-560mm f5.6 lens.
Aside from some brief uses of the original Canon 100-400, I haven't used any of the above personally... yet. So I'll leave it up to others to give their thoughts about image quality, focus speed, etc.
I like the Sigma, the color and bokeh, is hands down way better them the tamron....

I have to agree the Tamron does shot the more realistic color and the Sigma tends to enhance the colors.
