I shot this with a Canon 100 macro lens. I love the look of the photo but I have no idea what is on top of the feather. Does anyone know what it is? I would love some opinions for improvement of the picture itself.
It is a flower seed pod, often used in arrangements with Peacock feathers. I don't know the actual name of it though. We have two of them in the arrangement my wife has in the bathroom...;0) I'm sure someone will know what it's called.

Seed pod, but I don't know from what exactly. We used to glue two of them together to make rattles.

I am like most others. I know it is a seed pod of some kind because I have seen lots of them, I just don't know what it is from.
Yes but when they run right, very FAST
Looks like the seed pod of what i call a lilly pad that grows in shallow ponds. They have a bright yellow flower before going to seed. Good picture

But usually not fast enough for long enough to avoid trouble catching up :)
It is the seed pod of an American Lotus. they first have a large beautiful flower before this pod forms. I enjoyed photographing them during spring and summer of 2010 but we had a prolonged flood in 2011 that killed all of them.
This is the flower that makes that seed pod
They are very nice!! I will have to look for them in the future!
