Tomb Sweeping Day is just what it sounds like. It is a day where people remember their lost relatives.
Pictures were taken on Tomb Sweeping Day on a nearby mountain where there are some tombs. Also included a few pictures taken at one of the temples that is on the mountain.
Not my best pictures because I think my white balance or ISO were wrong. Picture three was taken in Shutter Priority Mode.
Interesting topic, great photos - like 'em a lot.
Is this just a day to visit and decorate tombs or is there more involved? Just curious.
Thanks.
Tom
Very nice shots of a great custom.

I believe the main tradition is to remember past relatives and to have a family gathering.
Thank you SO much for posting these photos. I do a great deal of cemetery photography here in USA and so it is specially nice to see the graves in a place so far away.
Photo #3 is specially nice. Your composition and the feeling of peace that comes from the image is very evident. Also, the composition in photo #8 of the woman coming down the stairs is exceptional too.
Thank you - Your post is very meaningful to me.
