I've had these hedges in front of the house for 20 years... They only bloom every 2 or 3 years.....

Very creative and interesting shot. I love the muted background and the egg shell is a great idea. I might have included the entire egg shell. That is, of course, completely subjective.

Thanks... I think it's part of our job a photogs to take often overlooked bits of beauty in this world and cast them in a different light.

Thanks much.... I have a 70's vintage 90mm Tamron Adaptall Macro/Portrait lens I use for projects like this. It gives me a DOF and (more importantly) a color profile that is pretty unique.

Wish I could take credit for the idea. Unfortunately I don't remember who the individual was but I saw this a few years ago and I guess the concept stuck. I started out w/ an almost entire shell and kept picking off pieces trying to get it 'just right'..... OCD strikes again!!
