I visited the Bronx Zoo back in 1963 with my parents when I was just a kid. We were in an area of the zoo where they had the lions and tigers and just past that area was a concrete walkway leading up to a concrete bunker. And as you ascended the walkway there where warning signs posted all along the way warning you that you are about to meet the most vicious and destructive animal on earth. And as you approached the bunker and looked through the iron bars, you saw your own reflection in a mirror hanging on the wall.
Machia, I was born in the Bronx (Not the zoo), and I remember that too.

There are enough photo opportunities in the City to keep you busy for at least 2 or 3 lifetimes. The Bronk Zoo is just 1 of them, but it is high on the list.

Oh I know. When I was working in Passaic, NJ I took my wife on a car trip to NYC. She was amazed by the number of people talking to themselves. I told her that the mayor is working on pairing them up so that it looks like they're actually carrying on a meaningful conversation. Poor thing actually believed me.
Profound display, makes you think, what is going on today is really no different than what was going on 5,000 years ago !
