A couple from todays visit.
Very well done!
I've got a granddaughter that wants to learn how to shoot portraits. I don't have a clue. Could you provide a few details about your technique?
Thanks.

Ok, you win! Most beautiful grandchild photo of the month. Really nice.
Not really a lot to it, the light is from a window with a Northern exposure around 11:00 am, so not a great amount of harsh light. Spot metering on the eyes. A 55-250 Zoom, at full zoom (250). f/5.6 for the short DOF. 1/100 sec. hand held. ISO 800. The WB was set to Auto. The hardest part was getting him to sit still for a couple seconds. LOL. He's watching a cartoon so these are candid, not posed.
The rest was done in PP, using ACDSee Pro 8. I find myself using it more than PhotoShop.

Thanks. Long ago in the film days of my life, I had a house with a large north exposure window. I used it a lot. Now I have a condo with no north facing windows at all!!
Your picture remind me that good photography does not always include crisp focus. The softness of your photos shows a tenderness in children that really tells the story. Excellent work, be proud.
