Today was cloudy and it was late afternoon when I took this photo of this pretty bird, so I couldn't get as much detail as I wanted.
The distance was about 25 feet and I used 400mm.

Nice captures Regis... waiting for my Dogwoods to start blooming and the weather gets a little warmer here... my window contraption works but is a nuisance... with it in place I can't see the birds as good... the visqueen is transparent but the wrinkles distort my view but it is still cheaper then opening the window and letting all my heat go out the window...

Thank you, Bruce. I don't like to photograph through a glass window, because there is some distortion. I will shoot through an open sliding glass door or through an open bedroom window after I take down half the screen part covering this window. It kind of acts as a blind so the birds don't scare away. I only do this for a minute because I don't want any bugs to come in or have my wife yell at me.

Nice one Regis. It is very hard at times to get the definition on the feathers. You did well.

You are right about that. This is one bird which becomes a challenge to get good definition with the yellow feathers, so I have to be fairly close to get the feather sharpness. Thank you, ARI. I appreciate your good comment.
