These pictures were taken in Marbella,Spain at the bull ring there on Sept 25, 2011. I was shooting with a Nikon D300S with a 18-200 mm zoom lens, hand-held. All images were Photosshopped to some extent to enhance color and/or to achieve some other effect. John Marks
Good pictures but I walked out of a bull fight, disgusted.

Not often Viscount and I agree on any subject but I'm with him on this one. I was taken to a bullfight aged 10, it sickened me and I now take great pleasure when I hear of those wicked people being gored. Difficult to condemn countries that practice this animal torture when we still have fox hunting.
Bullfights, why is it the the Bulls are completely exhausted half Dead Beat Down Before the Bullfighter jumps into the ring? Personally I like when the Bull Wins. That would make for a better photo just my two cents.
Nice pictures, but I agree that this is a cruel and disgusting "sport". I would love to see these guys fight a bull that is not almost dead, sort of a level playing field. I bet that would put an end to this barbaric and inhumane "sport".
Great photos first of all. Especially like the 2nd one with the blurred effect ... very nicely done.

Hey Shagbat,
Time we disagreed, fox hunting is illegal.

That's better, back to normal!
Only 'sort of', it still goes on.
Thank you. Actually that blurred shot won second prize in the local newspaper weekly photo contest -- my one and only prize ever. jdm
To get off the story of Bullfighting, My Greyhound was sold from a track in Florida with 27 other Greys, for $10 a piece. The Piece of crap that bought her owed a farm in Georga, and used my Baby for Target practice. My Valli was the only Dog to survive. We have a lot of sick people in our own counties, some would call that sport or entertainment , myself I believe what comes around go s around. That sick man that shot my Dog Died in custardy ( He should have Rotted).
Actually, I didn't enjoy the bull fights themselves for all the brutality to the bulls (my wife will never go back). I did find the colors, ceremony, and action very photogenic and enjoyed enhancing the pictures in Photoshop. The last picture of the bull standing wounded and alone I think is very powerful and majestic. I apologize if these pictures offended anyone. jdm
