JPEG_XR an almost ignored standard better than both jpg and png....

Since the op will not allow any link on the general discussion area I do not post any.

Google the format and tell me what you think of it?

I will try to upload a few samples created with it within a few hours (I have other things on the back burner at the moment, like preparing the laptop for my trip)...

So, how many cameras can do this. I can't find any listed.

According to wikipedia, no cameras currently support jpeg xr. Is it possible to run a raw file through a converter?

Somehow, JPEG2 never caught on. Perhaps JPEG XR will come into widespread use but there are a lot of image file formats that just never have become much more than academic.
