Two mature eagles took over an Osprey nest from last year and had 2 eglets. The osprey returned early and was quite disturbed over finding his nest had been taken over.
The following are some of the action that took place while I was watching.
The osprey at first dove on the nest when only the eglets were present.
Then mom arrived and he continued to dive on her also.
After a lot of screaming, dad came to the rescue, only to find the osprey was not afraid of any of them.
This went on for 30 minutes before the osprey finally gave up.
I was fortunate to be there and get these shots and many more. It was once in a lifetime for me.
Osprey when he first got there
mom awaiting strike
attack on mom
more attack on mom
still attacking mom
dad to the rescue
osprey attacking with both in nest
defensive moves
mom and dad returning to nest
Great captors and great exposures. In the right place at the right time!! OK, so who got the nest
great sequence! #3 and 4 are especially good...

The four eagles are the residents. the osprey went about a quarter mile and he and his mate are presently building a nest.
Those are incredible! Not only was it a once in a lifetime catch, but you did a wonderful job of capturing the images. Congratulations and thank you for doing such a fine job.
