They are nice. I have downloaded and printed some for my walls.
They let you download huge TIFF files and they look great without adjustment on my printer. 198 mb download and then change to 300 dpi for printing.
These are public domain, bought and paid for by our grandparents tax dollars.

I got the attachment in an email the other day. Those images really "pop" Its amazing that they are that old.

Photos were great..the clarity and sharpness is by far better than todays digital...I've used kodachrome before is 35mm, 4x5, and 8x10 formats...can't beat kodachrome..
