Dave Black was the guest speaker at our local photo club's February meeting. Mr. Black is a freelance photographer working for publications like Sports Illustrated, Time, Newsweek, and Sports Century on ESPN. He has covered events like the Masters, Kentucky Derby, National Football League, NASCAR, and the Olympic Games.
Not only is Mr. Black an accomplished photographer, he's an excellent speaker. He spoke for an hour-an-a-half, telling stories and weaving anecdotes among his narrative keeping us glued to every word. You never knew if his next utterance would be an informational nugget, or the cause of a big deep belly laugh. He's incredibly entertaining, and highly informative.
Smack dab right in the middle of his talk he stops. Pauses. Then says, "I'd like to encourage you to write an e-book. It's fun." And then continues right back into his story.
Well, I thoughtwhy not! So I did.
Its called "The Photographer's Cookbook" and published on Amazon.
The reason I'm sharing this is not so much about the book, but the value in creating the book. It takes a lot of work. But more importantly to create the book I had to experiment with things I otherwise would not have tried. I had to put myself in a frame of mind to try to explain in simple terms some pretty complex scenarios. And in that process I learned things I doubt I would have learned any other way.
So, if your bored, or just want to take on a new challenge, take Mr. Black's advice and write an e-book.

Thank you!
And don't forget the bonus material at the end of the book. There is a link to download that, and it is free.
Thanks for sharing. Great title and cover
