I've been watching Ebay for a few weeks now looking for a reasonably priced Nikkor 20mm f/2.8D since I'd have to swallow too hard paying for the Nikkor 18-35mm f/3.5-4.5G.
Would you consider the Nikkor 18-35mm D an acceptable alternative to the 20mm D - they are both priced about the same used from Ebay - and half the price of the new (or used for that matter) 18-35mm G.

Just to make it more interesting, how about the Nikkor 20-35mm f/2/8D instead of either of the others?
