I will be in Jasper, Lake Louise, and Banff in late April for four days. I would appreciate any suggestions for photo ops.

Check out Darwin Wiggett's inexpensive ebooks on Banff, Icefields Parkway, and Jasper. They give practical shooting advice, specific locations down to parking places and GPS data, and beautiful photos. Icefields Parkway is a photographer's dream - every 100 feet there's another photo op, many right from roadside pull offs.

Right on. Be before sunrise at Lake Herbert for great reflection and the Alpine Glow hitting the mountains
Thank you. That is EXACTLY what I wanted.
There was a very intensive series (5 pages of suggestions)about this just last week that dmeyer2m initiated.

Athabasca Falls is a must, about 25-30 km south of Jasper.
Check with the tourist office in Jasper, the building it's in, is worth a photo for itself. And don't overlook "Jasper" across the street. He's a must for any tourist.
Don't know if the tram to the top of Whistlers is running this time of the year, the views are amazing.
That's just what comes to mind immediately, but there are so many photo ops in both Banff and Jasper parks, that you really do not need a list. However, a stop at the Tourist Offices in Jasper, Banff, Lake Louise, could be very worthwhile as they have the latest information about closures (due to weather, animal activity, etc). I haven't kept track of the weather in the Canadian Rockies, but the bears will be waking up soon if they aren't already, and they're hungry !!!
DO NOT EVER FEED THE WILD LIFE! Not only is it illegal, it can be very dangerous.
Thank you. I've already figured out that I need more time.
