I have had a couple of Canon Rebels. Over time have bought some lenes. I have a Macro a telephoto and 50 mm. If I up grade to a 6D or 5II, will these lenes be compatible. Your help will be great.

That depends on the lenses, if they are EF-s lenses, they will not work on either 6D or 5D, they need to be EF lenses!

There are many people here capable of answering that question.
Why do people have to bother SS or whoever with every trivial question? Especially after the question has already been answered by a previous poster.
The macro will be most likely be fullframe, the 50mm will be full frame.
Which telephoto is it? What is its lens designation?

SS is an excellent source of accurate information as the R-man says, however, please provide specific lens details, otherwise none of us can really help without guessing.

The first question is please tell us specifically for each lens the brand and model number.

If they are Canon lenses the rule is simple, EF lenses work on any Canon EOS camera, film, digital, full-frame or crop. If they are EF-S lenses, then they only work on crop bodies, not full frame such as 6D or 5Dnnn.

From your list, if they are Canon lenses, then the 50mm is probably an EF lens which will work, Canon did or does not produce a 50mm prime specifically for crop / EF-S lenses. For the rest we need more detail to give solid guidance....

Need more information to answer.

On the "Macro" for example -

The EF 50mm f/2.5 Compact Macro, EF 100mm f/2.8L Macro, EF 100mm f/2.8 Macro, and EF 180mm f/3.5L Macro will work on a full frame Canon.

The EF-S 60mm f/2.8 Macro will not.

Canon makes a lot of EF-S zooms lenses. You can't use those on a full frame camera. EF zooms, you are good to go.

If I am not mistaken, all Canon 50mm lenses are EF rather than EF-S and so could be used on the new camera you are considering.

A Canon EF-S lens has an alignment mark indicated by a small white rectangle, whereas the EF lens has a small red dot for its alignment mark.

With due respect to the OP, I suspect that she is more than capable of reading the details on the lenses and providing us with that information. What she may not know is the relevance of all that information, which is maybe why she asked us in the first place.

Apologies if I am out of place here, but I'm not sure EF, EF-S, white or red dots are really supplying enough information.

For the OP, Lily, providing us with more detail may help us help you....

The straight forward answer is, EF-S lenses will not fit a FF body and EF lenses will.
The next issue will be the results you get from them.

Lily, any of your lenses that fit your Rebels will fit any other cropped sensor Canon camera. Your Macro, as well as the 50mm should do fine on a full sensor camera such as the 5D II or the 6D. Without knowing what telephoto lens you have, we can't assume it will or will not fit. As explained before, an EF-S lens will only fit a cropped sensor such as a Rebel, whereas an EF lens will fit any Canon EOS camera. Best, J. Goffe

They will be compatible if they are not s series lenses. All non-s series EOS lenses since the beginning will work with all EOS cameras since the beginning. The s- series were developed later at the introduction of the EOS 20D (I believe).
You do not say if your lenses are s series or not. The macros all are fine except for the 60mm macro EF-s version. Your 50mm is just fine as there is no s version and who knows about your telephoto.

All of Canon's current 50mm lenses are EF and will work on the 5D or 6D. Unless you have a 60mm Macro, which is EF-S and won't work, your Macro should also fit. As far as the telephoto, no telling with the info you provided. As was already stated, EF will upgrade, EF-S won't.

As already be stated we don't have enough specific information to give anything but general direction.

2014 I shot with Rebels and my primary body being a 60D. 2015 I added 6D. I have some great glass for crop senor Canons (EFs) and a few that would work with FF EF, f/2.8 100mm BlackMac, f/1.8 50mm, f/1.8 85mm.

I added the f/4 24-105mm L, and I have added a couple of UWA.

I had a EFs 10-22 that was very sharp. This was my reluctance to go FF.

I now can sell of the Rebels and EFs glass that I see as surplus. I have enough bodies glass that I can equip four shooter.

What I am getting at is if you decide to climb the latter sell you stuff as kits and trade up in glass as well as the body.

Normally I would ask for more information about your lenses, but in this case there's no need to. If the lenses are marked EF – S then they will not work on the cameras you question. Both those cameras are full frame cameras as I'm sure you know and only EF lenses will work on full frame cameras.
