The sky in the lighthouse shot is super! I also love the b&w: wonderful, interesting perspective - draws me right in. Great details too.

Terrific set of a great place. I'm going to be buying my Beach buggy pass in the next few weeks. Hope to have some shots to post then. Will have to step up my game to keep up with your really nice images.

Great shots ptcanon3ti, a beautiful beach, I spent many days fishing and duck hunting there. I remember as a youngster when it was still the Phipps Estate. My family had a beach cottage that abutted the property

Thanks!

Which house are your referring to that was the Phipps Estate? The ransacked house? Or, the boarded up "Judges Shack" on the beach?

I stumbled upon the ransacked house (BW shot) as I was cutting across the dunes. There was no discernible access road to the place. Really eerie.

The Phipps house became The Governor's House and is on the beachfront before the first bathing beach. When Phipps owned the property he leased out parcels on the beach and bay, for fishing and hunting. When the state bought the land in the fifties, those lease holds were changed to a lifetime lease hold. Most holders put the lease in the name of the youngest member of the family. Back in the day there were many shacks on the beach and Bay, most have rotted away. The fishing has always been fantastic in front of the Judges Shack. I used to dig around all the shacks to find their garbage pits, and found many old bottles and artifacts. It was a great place to grow up and later as an adult to drive my buggy up and down the beach and fish.

It's really quite a place. I've lived in NJ my whole life and this was my first time there. Also my fist encounter with wild foxes. Although they are VERY accustomed to people.

I certainly could have used your buggy...my legs are a bit stiff today.
