Hentz Jumping Spider

It has been a long time since I have shot macro but a tinsy winsy spider is all the motivation I need to drag the old rig out and set it up.

All 5 images were shot with a reversed 28mm Minolta MD at f/11 on a full set of tubes using a Canon 7D. Unfortunately, for some of the shots I had previously used the camera for birding and had an ISO setting much higher (800) than I like to use for macro. Should always check all camera settings before shooting.

Thanks, that is one of the remarkable features of this particular spider.

Makes me want to find the time to play with my 28mm and 50mm reversed.

Yes, I have a really good macro lens but it is not what I grab for a jumping spider, but I don't have electronic tubes or Raynox closeup lenses either which would get me closer.... Maybe someday I will get some tubes that will work with my macro lens, it would be easier than shooting reversed.

Thanks, they are tiny. Here is a full 1:1 macro of one I accidentally chilled a little too much a couple of years ago sitting next to a dime.
