Took a chance that B&H would have plenty in stock stored in the warehouse before release date and hire extra people to print and slap labels on boxes during pre-order phase.
I bet they shipped 2000 today alone. Maybe it's because I ordered early, maybe because I'm a UPS Choice member.
Anyway, who cares, mine arrives by brown truck tomorrow afternoon!
Now to see if the upgrade from 7100 was worth it! Better be, I already sold the 7100 to a fellow UHH'er here. :) :)

Well, enjoy your new toy :-)
Will you let us know if the difference between 7200 and 7100 was worth the upgrade?

Let us know if it has Group Area AF like the D4s.
I pre-ordered mine from the Nikon store a while ago, and they told me to expect it in the middle of April. If that's the case I guess I'll cancel and order from B&H. ;) pith
I too received an email on Thursday advising me that UPS will deliver mine today (Friday). Thanks, B&H. ;)
Now I'm wondering how long it will take Abobe to provided the profile for Lightroom...

Got the word from Precision Camera here in Austin that they have arrived and they are holding one for me. An hour and a half before the doors open and the GAS is almost unbearable...

Just checked inventory and we still have stock but of course cannot guarantee how long that will last. As we close early on Fridays we will ship orders today that were placed before 11: a.m. (while supplies last :))
Have a great weekend.

I don't see Group area AF in the manual anywhere. There is an Area Af Auto, where it picks the subject and tracks, but not sure if that is the same.

First impressions, I'm happy. Buffer is much better, although I'm just getting 13 RAW photos on one burst at 14 bit lossless compressed (buffer should go 18). But that's rated for a Sandisk Class 6 95mgbs card and I'm using a Class 10 40mgbs card. I'm sure I can get the extra 6 with a faster card.
On jpeg only, it fires until I get tired of holding down the button.
There is a learning curve here which I did not expect, as some features and the custom menus are a bit different. The Af-A Auto setting is intriguing, where the camera picks the subject as follows it, predictive tracking, if it moves out of frame.
I'll get out this weekend and give it a good workout and post some shots, but I think you can just about auto focus in the dark. Attached is a noisy shot at native 25600 ISO. It's not a very sharp image, but here is the kicker, the room was only illuminated by the AF assist lamp. And I know I shook a bit snapping the shutter, I didn't expect it to focus and fire. This is handheld, just fooling around, no tripod or monopod as I would have.
More to follow, but I'm glad I upgraded. I want to shoot grandchild sports and not always jpeg. I think that works at 12-18 shots before buffer slows. And AF seems even better than my D7100, at least initially.

Thank you for the update. The high ISO test is impressive. Buffer improivements are very good.
I will not upgrade my D7100 just for that. My next phase will be a transition to FX from DX. But, I will probably do so in 4-5 years. I am sure the D7100 will provide me lots of fun as was in the last couple of years.

I considered FX, but have range of lenses in DX. I have printed up to 20x30 without issue. Now that this 7200 performs so well in low light... not sure what advantages FX might offer. At least for my purposes. But to each their own. :-)
