Why are US companies still buying from China???

Toys for our young children imported from China were found to have lead in the paint. Young children put things into their mouths. Kids get lead poisoning.

Last year, I discovered that during a building boom, the US could not manufacture enough sheetrock. More was imported from China. Years later, that sheetrock was found to have sulfur in it. Over time, electric wiring corroded, started fires, the sulfur permeated everything and the residents got sick from breathing suluer over years. Those houses had to be bulldozed with everything in them, furniture, everything.

Today, I read that Chicago pulled 54 new CTA rail cars out of service and had to revert to using cars from the 1960s. The new cars have wheel bearing carriages which are far inferior in material. These components could break apart, derailing the car and who knows what could have happened to hundreds of passengers.

How much does it cost all of us for US companies to save a few dollars by buying from China? And how much did the top executives of those companies make in perks, bonuses, salary increases for making the decision to buy cheap components from China? The companies save money, the top execs get big bucks, and the rest of us pay for it by throwing away what we spent good money for, and we pay with loss of our health, and we perhaps pay with our lives.

I was astonished to find it was Bombardier that bough the Chinese components for the train cars. They have since fixed the problem with replacing them with other components. We all have to stay committed to thwarting Chinese crap in our markets. The government can't do it all since there are unscrupulous businessmen that will try to scam us with sub-standard products.

Greed will never go away. It MUST be punished!

you can be sure that american companys own all or a big part in those foreign companys.the wages suck, the living conditions are worse, and the mark-up is out of sight.
example, years ago my visa bank said i had enough points for 7 free gifts.the s&h was $7.95 for "each"gift,i figured $1.75 for making the darn thing, shipping stateside, and then to me.about a $6.00 profit."it's all about the profit".
the government won't stop it because these are the same companys that put the big bucks in their coffers

I recently watched a tv show about a US Company returning it's product line of light bulbs to the USA. Great huh ?

Know the reason ? The chinese factory workers were demanding a raise to $2.00 an hour.

Keep one more thing in mind folks - Our elected officials are currently in talks to expand more imports from China which means more poor quality and less US jobs. Elections are coming up soon. So the question is "to re-elect or not to re-elect". What happens next is up to us, the voter and taxpayer.

Is that the one where the employees were jumping off of the roof of the building. I can't see how that is much of a protest. Especially by killing yourself. Oh well, its not like there's a shortage of the little bastards to go around.

went to wally world this AM, looking for 2 picture frames, picked out four of them from the bin, 2 were made in China. 2 were made in the USA. That wasn't a hard decision. "Oh" they were all the same price.

And also much thanks to Jeffrey Immelt and GE's exporting of technology and jobs. They are doing their best to bury us and the American worker.

At a party given by a billionaire on Shelter Island, the late Kurt Vonnegut informs his pal, the author Joseph Heller, that their host, a hedge fund manager, had made more money in a single day than Heller had earned from his wildly popular novel Catch 22 over its whole history. Heller responds, “Yes, but I have something he will never have . . . Enough.”
