I heard a rumor that LR6 is about to be released and I was hoping that someone could tell me if there is any truth to these rumors.

Yes, this is one of those true rumors. I posted a link a few days ago. From the article I read, it doesn't sound exciting. The first item listed was the fact that you can work on your images but not actually change the original - nothing new about that. Unless there is something special in the new release, I'll stay with 5.7.
EDIT: Here it is.

If you believed the rumors, LR 6 was to have been released on March 9. So much for that. I saw a date of Friday, March 20 recently. But who really knows? Adobe apparently did not release this as a beta like versions 4 and 5.
The report I read was promising HDR merge facilities as well as panorama stitching.

Yes. This is indeed an improvement for those who do panos and HDR (which I do). Currently, I have to go into Photoshop to do this. It would be nice to do this in LR, so for me it's a welcome addition. Also, the current healing brush sucks, so I'm looking forward to an improvement there too. Of course, if you have LR 5.7, a jump to 6.0 is not going to be revolutionary.
I am anxiously awaiting. If panos and HDR are upgraded, I'll hardly need PSCC2014 at all.

SHHHHHH!!! Don't let them know that!! The reason they're holding stuff back from LR is to make the full Photoshop a more appealing upgrade path :? .

http://www.uglyhedgehog.com/t-290993-1.htmlJerry, it is also supposed to work only with 64 bit systems and is supposed to be faster and much more efficient with how it handles instructions. I have seen pages of supposed upgrades it is supposed to do, but Adobe is remaining quiet about it.. The people who were talking about how great it is were the developer/workers that were in the Adobe forums with Adobe email addresses. I suspect that their "leaks" are true but they were not giving any true timetable or specifics. Just generalities. It appears that Lightroom (and Photoshop) will be better performing and will better use memory and both video and computer CPUs in addition to having better throughput and be much faster. It will also be Windows 10 compatible. (Supposedly, MS is bypassing Windows 9?). Anyway, all cloud customers will automatically get the upgrade when ever it is available..
that's the good thing about paying monthly and getting it from Adobe You get all updates at no extra cost
That's almost double what I paid for LR5.

But, you could pay the $9.99 per month and get it AND Photoshop for the equivalent of $120 per year and get all the upgrades including Lightroom 7 when it is released in a about a year or so for no extra charge.... lol... Yes, I know that it is $9.99 per month but you never have to worry about shelling out the $145 each year or so to stay on the current version of LR and you get the current version of Photoshop, all of the Adobe fonts and Adobe Font manager and Adobe Bridge for that $9.99. Sorry didn't mean do sound like a salesman, but, it isn't a bad deal when you consider all that is involved... And I doubt, seriously, that they will increase the price anytime soon because of the pressure to hold their prices.. Also, by converting their entire inventory to Cloud Based only, they get completely out of distribution and creating all of the packaging and paper manuals. Plus, they have a monthly income rather than depending on new customers constantly purchasing software between new releases. The have effectively spread their income out monthly making it easier for their accounting department to budget rather than guess about future sales.

Yes it is true, LR6 is just around the corner, but it will only work in 64 bit!
