Yes, a crane fly, female and almost certainly mated. They grow up in damp meadow soil, the males coming out first. When the females break the surface and begin to shed the pupal skin, they are mobbed by males even before they are all the way out of the old skin. Seen as many as 43 (counted them) on 1 mom-to-be. When one 'connects', the others get lost almost immediately -- change in pheromones?, leaving the victor to consummate in peace. Nice shots.
