Agreed the differences are negligible. The advantages of using the TC are not though which is cool! Twice the magnification or twice the working distance. (its a dead flower)Bob

After you pointed it out I think it appears so. Both were shot at f/29 so no change there. I think I cropped the 2x shot ever so slightly to match the Sigma alone shot but I do not think it was enough to change anything. Might be just shot to shot discrepancy. It was a bit windy when I took them. Here are both shots right out of the camera.

I think I see the very slight difference in focal point now. I believe the DoF is the same in both now. I just needed to look at it differently :|

Yes the focal point is slightly different. Difficult to get these things exact. I could have done better. Bob

I believe that DoF is a function of distance focused and aperture, so DoF would change with your addition of the converter, if your working distance and focus changed to stay at 1:1 magnification.
