canon lens

I have an old canon lens EF 28-90 1:4-5.6, lens could I use this on my d5200 nikon camera? is there a mount I could change on the lens to fit the lens on my nikon.I have a 18-55 kit lens now is it worth doing this?or just leave well enough alone? Thanks Jim Bianco

save your lunch money and shop carefully for a good used lens.

I think the only adapter ever made for this was made by Bower, it was huge (looked almost like a lens in it's own), and they are hard to find these days. I would just get another lens (Nikon). You'll be happier in the end!

If you don't have a Canon camera to use it on, I'd suggest you sell off the Canon lens and put the money towards a Nikkor or a third party lens made for Nikon.

Vintage Nikon lenses (and many lenses from other manufacturers) can be adapted for use on modern Canon cameras. In part, the Canon EF/EOS mount was designed with this in mind.

However, the opposite is not true. There are limited other lens mounts that can be adapted to use on Nikon F-mount.

In addition, modern lenses are largely electronically controlled... both auto focus and the lens aperture... making them far less interchangeable... impractical at best, impossible in most cases.

Hi there you can get a converter that will help you put any lens on your camera. I have use old canon fd lens with my ed lens body this way.
