This is a civil issue, not a religious issue.

Sounds like it is more of a child protection measure than any religious or political decision. I do think it is the obligation of local ministers to provide spiritual guidance if it is requested but that can be done in a secure location.
Got to admit it perked my interest when I saw the headline as well.

Many yet caught/identified pedophiles may be attending church. They do need help, and perhaps, as you say, could be helped in a secure location by the church.

No, clearly it is both a civil and religious issue for many.. I believe pedophiles should be identified (civil) for the protection of the community, and to feel forgiveness by God (duty of church/clergy). Some may be beyond help psychologically, and an added concern is that many clergy are also pedophiles.

James, the more you talk about religion the less you seem to know. Why do you assume that the Clergy are a bunch of pedophiles? When you say church or clergy, what denomination are you speaking about? Most Protestant Ministers are married men with families. Also, it is not the responsibility of the Church nor the Pastors or Priest to make sinners FEEL saved. Being SAVED is not a FEELING but a fact. When a sinner ask for forgiveness he must accept it as a fact and not go by his feelings.

The reason this is a Civil issue and not a religious issue is because the edict was issued by the Sheriff and not by any particular church or religious origination. It is unlawful for pedophiles to be around children even in a Church setting. Pedophiles must abide by the Law, not the church.

I have said it before and say it once again. Man's law first, God's Law second, which you denied in the past but now seem to accept with your statement:

"Pedophiles must abide by the Law, not the church."

You remain, Bangee, forever it seems, a contradicting hypocrite.

Something for your church to consider:

“Not in my particular congregation, we don’t bar the gates of Heaven.” - Michelle Shiplet, Church Mouse Ministries.

Go pray, Bangee, that God will help you understand, as you clearly, once again, do not see the whole picture.

Of course you have everything I said twisted and misconstrued, playing with assumptions and outright lies.

If you were not so spiritually dead you would understand what is being said.

By implying that another is "spiritually dead" you are implying that you are spiritually "alive," and that what you perceive as being spiritually dead in another amounts to your arrogance that to be spiritually alive others must be like you.

My spirit is alive and doing quite well. Suggest that you leave the spirit of others to others, and that you tend your own spirit. Yours seems to need some tending. How arrogant of you!

You think yourself wise in your own eyes but are a fool in the eyes of others. You have no clue as to what it means to be spiritually dead. You are one clueless dude, dude!

Man's Law? God's Law? How arrogant of you! The sheriff sent out orders that no pedophile can attend a church because there are children around. The churches says that all are welcome but that does not mean that they can over rule the orders of the sheriff. That is a civil matter that even churches must obey and in doing so, if you want to get religious about this, the church will be obeying "God's Law" to obey the civil Laws of the Government.

I am arguing with you about Man's Law Verses God's Law because you don't seem to have the intelligence to debate either. If a pedophile needs or wants help, he should see a psychiatrist not the clergy. There can be nothing more dangerous then a pedophile who FEELS forgiven about his sin but has not cured his illness. Forgiveness comes with repentance. It takes more then just asking for forgiveness just to FEEL GOOD. True repentance comes with a change of attitude about the sin and the assurance of a forgiving God. Molestation is a crime punishable by law. The church can forgive the sinner in their own hearts but they can not pardon the crime. Repentance is still up to the sinner if you can understand this.

The state has determined that pedophiles should not be around children under any circumstance. These people cannot help themselves. They should not be around children in Church, either. Whether somebody who is labeled a sex offender because they were caught peeing in public is another question. I'd like to see some followup on this article.

Bangee, you have now elevated yourself to the point of being an "expert" on another one's spirituality. Where do you acquire such expertise? Does it come from your church or directly from God or is it, once-again, a self-anointed thing?

How arrogant of you. As I say, man's laws first; God's laws second while dealing with the here-and-now.

And I understand, well, about repentance. Thus, a pedophile living next door to you today, in sin, may very well become your honored next door neighbor when you take up your "heavenly" residence. That simple Bangee. Get use to it.

James, there is no understanding to your logic. It is not about me but about the thread that you posted. Stay on your own topic... PLEASE! Can you address the issues?
