D 7100 playback issue

I just received a refurb. D7100, currently a D300/D7000 user. When I review my shot, I have to continually tap the zoom button or the scroll button to get the image to move on the screen. After constant tapping button it will then start to function OK. I did a small wedding last night and during the shoot I couldn't just hold the button to zoom in, had to repeatedly tap it. After the shoot when I was going thru all images, it worked just fine. Am I missing something? Thanks!

I just checked on my D7100 - holding the button from the start zooms fine on mine.
Honestly, never knew the button zoomed by holding it, always tapped myself, but it does zoom on holding right off for me.

I am wondering if the picture that you are trying to review is the last of a string of pictures taken in the continuous firing mode and the buffer is still tying to complete it's processing of the data. Did you notice if the green indicator lamp is still glowing while you were trying to review your photo?
