In the interest of not starting an arguement over art, etc. I just got another ad from Adorama about their classes. When I look at the photos of the people presenting, there are only about 2 that really strike me as "good." If you were trying to sell people on taking a class on photography, wouldn't you use a well lit, and nicely composed photo of the presenter?

Taking it a step further, if I were the instructor, I would supply them with a high quality photograph. Makes you wonder though. If he/she isn't paying attention to the small stuff, is that a reflection on how they work?

That was my opinion. I've been watching ads to see if there are any good seminars coming up, but when I see stuff like that, looks like a blurry snapshot, it makes me wonder why I would spend the money?

Me - I want the best instructor who can present the information in a way that I can understand. I wouldn't care if he/she looked like Ansel Adams.

I have not looked at the photos they are showing but they may be ones being used to demonstrate a lousy photograph.

I think he was referring to the quality of the photos used to advertise a photography class. For example, would this encourage you to spend your money? "Lern speling right now. Don't look like a dummie all you're life."

Sorry. Sorry Sorry.

I should have explained that better. Apparently, the photos that Adorama is using to advertise a photography class are of poor quality. So, I was trying to demonstrate that presentation can be important. If someone is using bad spelling to advertise a spelling course, that would probably turn people off.

I really don't think it's that unusual because I see photos by pros/experts that I wouldn't even print. If you look at alot of photo mags you'll quickly see what I mean. Of course you can always call it art even if it's manure thrown on a canvas..........

If I were the instructor, I would not allow any photographs of the instructor!
