This has happened to me on several occasions to my dismay. I come to find out that not only birds reside in trees.

The not so little bugger looks hungry too - not a big fan of snakes either. Especially the ones who regularly dislocate their jaws to have a meal.

I suppose he was catching unsuspecting insects.

LOL, yes dislocated jaws aren't all that attractive either.

Oh My!! I was born in No. Chars. but never saw any of that there while I lived there. Hawks are so aggravating. Nic Set and good work... :thumbup:

Thanks ckt1945 and Erv. It was a good day for birds and other wildlife. Luke, I believe the hawk was a red-shouldered hawk.

:lol: I think if I ever actually see a SIF like this I will be DOG (dead on ground) before I ever find the shutter button on the camera. This is great.

It would have been better if the hawk had had his eye on the snake. Great shots. Hope you had a long lens for the snake.
