It was nice to find two subjects this morning. I'm glad it was cool enough to slow down the wasp. My focus was a bit off on the moth, I need to get in more practice before the flies start emerging.
D7000 at ISO 100, Nikkor 105mm Ai-S, 68mm ext tubes but not at MFD (subjects were too big), SB-28 speedlight at 1/4 power, 1/125-sec at f/16-f/11.
Especially like the Wasp
both great photo's....the moth when I did a download and then zoomed in , it looks like an old shag carpet...
Fabulous job on the wasp face!!!
I love the camouflage coloring of your moth. Is there a nearby tree with similar bark pattern?

Thanks for the comments!
There is a oak tree near by. Next time I'll search the bark for a hidden moth.
