Getting excited for spring, temp is 40's. Snow melting huge lakes in driveway and yard!!!! But this means I'll be getting more shots like this ....

I can get Waxwings to nest in my maple tree, but I can't get an Oriole to my feeder.

Thank Bigbear!!!!! Have you tried oranges or grape Jelly???? I mix sugar water and boil for orioles and hummers. Have not been lucky enough to find waxwings nest but have watched them tug strings off the tomato cages for nest building... Have you been able to get any pics of your nesting ones????

He was quite curious!!!!! and kind of odd markings, some brown and a white patch on the tail!
I've tried all kinds of sweet stuff to try to get Orioles but they stay around the perimeter of our yard.
The maple was so dense I couldn't see the nest until fall. In October we lost about half of the tree to the heavy snow so I don't know if the Waxwings will be back.

The orioles don't stay but a couple weeks, Had alot of blue buntings too!! Hope the waxwings decide to take up residence in the other half!
