My son retired on March 6th as a MSgt from the Marine Corps after 21 years. The day was cold, but the ceremony was impressive in spite of the discomfort of being outside, and our pride in him kept him warm. I especially like the shot I took with him and his wife after the ceremony with the retiring officer was over and they were walking back to their seats. Shot with a Canon EOS Rebel XS, Canon 18-135 lens.
You must be proud of him.
Please thank him for his service for me OK.

I am very proud of him. He really had mixed emotions about leaving the service, but it was time.

I certainly will, and thank you for appreciating our service members.
Semper fidelis! I am so glad that there are still men like your son. Will he stay in the Reserves?
Congrats. I got out in 1961. My son is still in the Navy on his 28th year.

From what I understand, he can be called up until 2022, so I guess he is sort of "in the reserves" but after that, I don't think he will be doing any reserve time. Thanks for your appreciation of his service.

I am very proud of him. He went to basic training out of high school, got hurt and did not finish. He came home, got better, and went back - starting basic all over again, and graduated. Then he decided he wanted to be a Drill Instructor and went through that training when he was in his 30's - old for a DI, and completed that. Thanks for looking, and your comments.
