It was taken on a lovely sunny day. This famous rock is a well known marker of the Oregon scenery.
I hope you like it.

You are welcome chase4. I am sure there are much better & more dramatic versions of this rock but when I visit this lovely small town of Cannon Beach - I always keep taking many photos of the haystack rock.

Grew up in Oregon - good shot of the rock, like the reflection. Makes me want to visit Cannon Beach again. Keep taking photos of the rock.

Great photo of the rock. Last time I was there you could barely see the darned thing for the fog and mist. Need to go back for a visit this summer I think.

Great shot of Haystack Rock. Know it well since Cannon Beach is my favorite location on the Oregon Coast. Would you mind telling me your camera settings if you have them handy. Thanks

These rocks are so weird, there is a massive one in Scotland called the Bass Rock, --- Good picture AK, I like your reflections,

Geoff

Thank you Tom. This year you have more days with clear visibility. We had six consecutive weekends with very nice weather.

Thanks for the info. I wondered what F stop you used to get the great depth of field. I was a little surprised that you could freeze the wave action at 1/250 but I guess the distance from the waves helped freeze them. The composition is wonderful. The way you have the reflection of the rock is the glassy tidal water is terrific. Along with the wet sand in the immediate foreground. I'll no doubt be at Cannon Beach in May or June. We always take a road trip along the coast in the spring & fall & Cannon Beach is almost always a stop. I will think about your photo every time I see Haystack now. Last spring when I was at Cannon Beach with my granddaughters there was an extra low tide & we were able to walk out to the base of the rock. That was fun.
