Going on vacation there next month.
Where would you suggest to take pictures of landscapes?
I know it is a great region.
Sedona, and Sonora Desert Museum near Tuscon are both good and quite different from each other. The obvious is Grand Canyon south rim which is usually very crowded.

Montezuma Castle National Monument, not really a landscape but extremely impressive! Sedona has beautiful red rock formations, Watson Lake in Prescott, the Grand Canyon.
Arizona is 300x400 miles area.Where are you planning to be? Arizona is low desert, medium desert, and high plateau country**. For example, Catalina Mts in Tucson have the varied vegetation from Northern Mexico to what it is like in Canada with tall pines. That is just 22 miles and 9,000 feet gain in elevation.
There is the Grand Canyon, Painted Desert, Petrified Forest, Meteor Crater, Red Rock area, to sand dunes around Yuma. Kitt Peak Observatory, plus many national parks across the state. Where will you be and what is your range you plan to engulf?
Antelope canyon slot canyons in Paige. Take the 2 hour photography tour. Great!

AZ is a large and great region. If you are going North, Page AZ is near the Utah border. I would suggest Page, AZ. Horseshoe Bend and the Slot Canyons are great. I just wrote a BLOG about Must Do! tour for photographers. You can find it here;
http://www.capture48.com/the-secret-of-the-canyon/Read about how close to a 99 story drop you have to get to snap a shot of Horseshoe Bend here:
http://www.capture48.com/the-river-bends/Others have also given some great ideas as well, but to be any more specific you need to tell us what part of AZ you will be visiting, and what type of photography you like to do.

Grand Canyon, Painted Desert, Petrified Forest
No matter where you go don't miss the red rocks at Sedona. ;)
If you enjoy the colorfull and funky, Jerome and Paulo Solari's digs may be of interest.

This question is like walking up to the cashier at a Buffet and asking "Do you have anything to eat?" I just sat down and looked in my Arizona Map Book and in 5 minutes found 125 different places listed that I find interesting enough to photograph. Are you driving or flying? Where are you staying?

Take a hot air balloon ride out of Sedona.

As others have said Arizona is a big place. How much time will you have and how far from your base are you willing to go?
Do you want to stay on paved roads or are dirt or gravel roads ok? What kind of landscape do you want to see? Do you want to stay near your vehicle when you photograph or are you willing to hike some?

As others have mentioned Sedona is a great place to start... I'm just 15 miles south of there. Then the Grand Canyon can be done in a day trip, then Page and Slot Canyon to the East, another day trip. Then back down stop at Horse Shoe Bend and on to Jerome on the way to Prescott another day trip. This covers some of northern AZ and after that most of the other attractions are 100 miles and more South. If it's a summer trip be prepared for temps over 100 as you travel south although April should be not that hot. I'll let others comment on that area.

You could buy Post Cards and Picture Books.
Or you could go where everybody else has and take similar photographs.
I could look out a window, or step outside a door and find something of interest to me, without asking...
