Canon SX50 appears to have died on the road. EVF still works for pictures and to access functions but LCD view screen appears to have died (Button to change between EVF and View Screen still works as image leaves EVF and comes back). Camera manual of no help. Does anyone know of a full camera reset that can be accessed from the EVF viewable functions? Or is it easy to remove View Screen and check for loose connections? Appreciate any help before I go shopping for a new camera.

Yes, this is the most likely problem. I wish Canon hadn't skimped here. It would be much nicer if there was a sensor to detect when your eye is at the EVF and to activate the EVF. Instead, you have to take the time to hit the display button for what you want. I find this a pain.
