NO. Megapixls no matter. In-Cambody vs Out autofocus no matter.
I'm just a "photo/image advocate; would buy a D-7000 again in a heartbeat - do not covet a D-Gazillion.
You make the image. N'est'ce'pas?

Kind of what I was thinking Duck72, thanks a lot.

Seriously- If you don't covet a D810 or such, the D-7000 is a GOOD camera. I've been "shooting" since the '60s, with good 35mm stuff - this (Digital given) is a GOOD camera on the downslope of "newer model price curve" - 7100's extra pixels don't mean crap. The APS-C (DX) 7000 is a pro camera in sheep's clothing @ wool prices as far as I'm concerned. If you buy and don't like - let me know, Please. I might be interested in depreciated D-7000 as a backup.

Nokon? It totally depends on what you want to do with it. For my purposes, yes the D7100 is much better.

Yes, I think it is that much better. And I honestly think that the D7200 is that much better than the D7100 with a better autofocus system, a newer processor and higher ISO performance with a much needed upgrade to the buffer rate which is a dog on the D7100.

I like to shoot Wildlife and my kids sports so these are all very important to me.

Just another point of view to consider. Good luck!

When I joined UHH, a "wisened veteran" warned me that there would be "opinions." I now fall prey to mine. If you need/want megapixels, 50+ points of autofocus, someone to hold the umbrellas over you, by all means - Buy the best Leica/Hasselblad "kit" you can afford. My D7000 takes as-good - maybe "better" pics. It's a "I pressed the shutter button" thing. "Equipment" maybe #4 on list. 5? 6?

I have both. I use the 7100 and the 7000 as back up and I like both of them. Also I don't like to change lenses on digital cameras due to dust getting in there, so they each have their own lens and it stays that way.

I have a D90 and D7000 and have rented the D7100 twice to try out. I tested the cameras with the same lenses on each and I got better photos from my D90 and D7000. I checked the autofocusing with my DataColor SpyderLensCal to make sure that the focusing was properly calibrated. I've read that very high resolution cameras are harder on the lenses. Any imperfections are more obvious with a very high resolution sensor. Any focusing errors are more obvious also. Diffraction can begin to soften the image at earlier apertures when stopping down the aperture due to the smaller pixels.

Hi Wesso no expert here however I shoot an old d80 and the d7000 I love the 7000 . I am going to a ff d610 or d750 very soon but I won't give up my 7000. It's easy, comfortable takes great shots. Good luck.
