Alright, Last Set of Red Robins at 600mm

Nice robin portraits!

Some advice:
Avoid sharpening the out of focus (blurred) areas to prevent the ugly fuzziness you can see in your backgrounds. Instead, do localized sharpening - only the in focus areas, especially the subject were it matters most. This will also result in the subject popping out better from the now softer, visually less intrusive background. Basically, avoid global sharpening, and use the effects brush tool in your editor for local sharpening.

thank you for the advice, I think I'll try that. I usually global sharpen, then if I feel up to it, which I didn't in theses shots, I'll reduce the background noise with a brush. That is pain in the you know what...so I usually just leave it.

One thing that you might be seeing also, which compounds the busy, noisy background it the effect of the lens. I think it's the VC stabilization control on the Tamron that gives the backgound a "unique" look. These are all hand held to the lens is really working hard to stabilize.
